lots to read
lots to write
As a precocious writer, I spent many hours ignoring math lessons as a pre-teen in favor of tapping away at my middle school-provided Chromebook, writing novellas about magic wolves, invisible girls, taxi drivers, and wizards. Around this time, I won several awards from the Power of the Pen creative writing competition in Ohio, which gave way to a now lifelong interest in writing.
I minored in writing during my years at Xavier, with my portfolio containing some nonfiction writing for FOX19 and Xavier’s Television News station, and many a screenplay, poem, and novella on the creative side.

whatever grows in the crevices
Excerpt from my young adult fantasy novella, Whatever Grows in the Crevices, completed under the tutelage of C. Dylan Basset. The story follows Saffron, a cartographer living amongst a dwindling population of humans, tasked with mapping the continent.

Song of Hope
A short story based on Hadestown, written for and published in the digital zine Flowers & Machinery.

Hidden Hands
Chapter One of my still-in-progress novel. Haywood, a middle-aged gambler lacking ambition in life, has the incredible ability to see ghosts. The only time he seems to use it, though, is to talk to his only friend, Augustus, a cowboy who died during the American Frontier. Haywood seems content to spend his days sitting alone at the bar until a mysterious force who lusts for his power begins haunting him.
